Self-hosted licence
Version 0.1 · Last updated 13 August 2026
Draft, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. These terms describe what is intended, in plain language. They have not been through legal review and the self-hosted licence is not on sale yet, so nothing here is in force.
This page sets out the terms on which [legal entity name](“we”, “us”) licenses the software known as link to a customer (“you”) for running on your own infrastructure. It applies only to the self-hosted licence. The hosted service at link.cdrusu.com is covered by theacceptable use policy instead.
1. What you are granted
A non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run one instance of link, for your own purposes, for the period you have paid for. The licence is granted to you and may not be assigned to anyone else without our written agreement.
This is not a sale. Ownership of the software, its source code and everything in it remains with us. You are buying permission to run it, not the thing itself.
2. What you may not do
- Modify, adapt or create derivative works from the source code.
- Copy or redistribute it, in source or compiled form, to anyone else.
- Resell, sublicense, rent or lease it.
- Operate it as a service for third parties, or otherwise make it available to people outside your own organisation.
- Remove or obscure copyright, licence or attribution notices.
- Use it for anything unlawful, or in a way that would breach our acceptable use policy if it were run on our own service.
3. Your infrastructure, your costs
A self-hosted instance runs in your own Cloudflare account, under your own contract with Cloudflare. Everything Cloudflare charges you — Workers, KV, D1, domains, usage above their free allowances, and anything else — is between you and Cloudflare.
We have no visibility into that account, no control over what it costs, andno responsibility for any charge you incur, including charges arising from unexpected traffic, abuse of links you host, or configuration choices you make. Any figure we quote about likely cost is an estimate and nothing more.
4. Updates and support
While your licence is current you may install the versions we publish. We do not commit to publishing any particular update, to a release schedule, or to maintaining any feature that exists today.
Support covers questions about the software itself, at[support email]. It does not cover your Cloudflare account, your DNS, your domain, or code you have written around it. There is no committed response time.
5. Fees, term and renewal
The licence runs for one year from the date it is issued, for the fee shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Fees are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise; VAT is applied according to where you are and whether you are a business.
It does not renew automatically. When the year ends, the permission to run the software lapses: renew to carry on, or stop running it. We may change the fee for future terms, and any change applies from your next renewal rather than mid-term.
6. Ending the licence
You may stop using the software at any time; fees already paid are not refundable except where the law requires it.
We may end the licence if you materially breach these terms — in particular section 2 — and have not put it right within 30 days of us telling you. On termination you must stop running the software and delete the copies you hold. Links you created remain yours; they live in your own infrastructure and we have no access to them.
7. No warranty
The software is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, and we do not guarantee the availability of anything running on your infrastructure.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and if you are a consumer your statutory rights are unaffected.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, loss of business, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the software. Our total liability under this licence is limited to the fee you paid for the current term.
This does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
9. Data protection
In a self-hosted deployment you are the data controller. Link data, click counts and account records live in your own Cloudflare account; we do not receive them, store them or process them, and we are not your processor for that data.
The details you give us to buy and administer a licence — name, email, company, payment details — are processed by us for that purpose only.
10. Governing law
This licence is governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and the courts of [courts] have exclusive jurisdiction, save that if you are a consumer you may bring proceedings where the law entitles you to.
11. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms for future licences and renewals. The version in force for you is the one published when your current term began; this page shows its version number and date at the top.
